SensingTEK ZigBee wireless transmission modules support the IEEE 802.15.4 Protocol allowing automatic message transmission from nodes through wireless routers to a centralised coordinator. As a result the modules can be easily used in applications requiring wide area monitoring or control where nodes are widely scattered. An example of a tree structure is shown in the image below.

Using the wireless I/O modules with the COZ100 Modbus TCP coordinator a SCADA solution can be quickly configured to allow cost effective monitoring and control of your factory, offices or compound without the need for expensive cabling.
The wireless I/O modules periodically transmit the value of their inputs to the coordinator. A PC or PLC acting as a ModbusTCP master will poll the coordinator for the readings using the Modbus commands. All configuration of the I/O modules and the coordinator is done using the SensingTek Engineering Toolbox software.
