Dual Axis Gyro Board - IDG500 This is the breakout board for the IDG500, which includes an on-board 2.8V regulator and all pins broken out to 0.1" pin holes. The IDG-500 is a very small, dual-axis angular rate sensor (gyroscope). It uses InvenSense’s proprietary and patented MEMS technology with vertically driven, vibrating masses to make a functionally complete, low-cost, dual-axis angular rate sensor. All required electronics are integrated onto a single chip with the sensor. The IDG-500 gyro uses two sensor elements with novel vibrating dual-mass bulk silicon configurations that sense the rate of rotation about the X- and Y-axis (in-plane sensing). This results in a unique, integrated dual-axis gyro with guaranteed-by-design vibration rejection and high cross-axis isolation. It is specifically designed for demanding consumer applications requiring low cost, small size and high performance. The IDG-500 gyro includes the integrated electronics necessary for application-ready functionality. It incorporates X- and Y-axis low-pass filters and an EEPROM for on-chip factory calibration of the sensor. Factory trimmed scale factors eliminate the need for external active components and end-user calibration. This product is lead-free and Green Compliant. Features: * 3-7V single-supply operation * Integrated X- and Y-axis gyros on a single chip * Two separate outputs per axis for standard and high sensitivity: X-/Y-Out Pins: 500°/s full scale range 2.0mV/°/s sensitivity X/Y4.5Out Pins: 110°/s full scale range 9.1mV/°/s sensitivity * Integrated amplifiers and low-pass filters * Auto-Zero function * On-chip temperature sensor * High vibration rejection over a wide frequency range * High cross-axis isolation by proprietary MEMS design * Hermetically sealed for temp and humidity resistance * 10,000 g shock tolerant Download IDG500 Data Sheet Download Circuit Sheet Purchase! |

IMU 5 Degrees of Freedom IDG500/ADXL335 This Inertia Measurement Unit Combo Board incorporates the IDG500 dual-axis gyroscope and Analog Devices triple axis ADXL335 accelerometer in a tight footprint. The IMU board uses a standard 0.1" footprint and includes all outputs from both the IDG500 gyro and ADXL335 accelerometer ICs. This IMU 5DOF is the latest in a long line of development boards. This latest version allows an unheard of 5 axis of sensing (Roll, Pitch, X, Y, Z) in less than 1 square inch, and under 2 grams! By combining the IDG500 and ADXL335 sensors, the IMU board enables students and hobbyists to easily incorporate roll, pitch, and tilt measurements into their projects or robots. Board comes fully assembled and tested. Units come as shown without headers installed. We recommend right-angle break away headers, straight pin headers, or wire up your own cable! IMU 6DOF Razor - Ultra-Thin IMU There's a lot of punch packed into this little IMU. The 6DOF Razor makes use of ST's LPR530AL (pitch and roll) and LY530ALH (yaw) gyros, as well as the popular ADXL335 triple-axis accelerometer, to give you six degrees of measurement on a single, flat board. All analog outputs of the gyros (1x and 4x amplified) and accelerometer are broken out to the 0.1" pitch headers. The gyro outputs have a full scale of ±300°/s, while the outputs of the accelerometer have ±3g range. There is no on-board regulation, so you'll need to provide a clean 3.3VDC power source, which will power all three sensors. All filtering capacitors and other components are included as shown on the pictures. Features: * 2.7-3.6VDC power supply * Low power consumption * Pitch, yaw, and roll gyro outputs o 1x and 4x amplified (0.83 and 3.33 mV/°/s sensitivity, respectively) o ±300°/s range * x-, y-, and z-axis accelerometer outputs o 300mV/g sensitivity o ±3g range * All necessary filtering components * Access to gyro's self-test, power-down, and high-pass filter reset pins Download * Schematic * Eagle Files * LPR530AL Datasheet * LY530ALH Datasheet * ADXL335 Datasheet Purchase! |

Degrees of Freedom - Razor IMU - 16MHz The 9DOF Razor IMU incorporates four sensors - an LY530AL (single-axis gyro), LPR530AL (dual-axis gyro), ADXL345 (triple-axis accelerometer), and HMC5843 (triple-axis magnetometer) - to give you nine degrees of inertial measurement. The outputs of all sensors are processed by an on-board ATmega168 and output over a serial interface. The board comes programmed with the 8MHz Arduino bootloader and example firmware that tests the outputs of all the sensors. Simply connect to the serial TX and RX pins with a 3.3V FTDI Basic Breakout, open a terminal program to 38400bps and a menu will guide you through testing the sensors. You can use the Arduino IDE to program your code onto the 9DOF, just select the 'Arduino Duemilanove w/ATmega168' as your board. The 9DOF operates at 3.3VDC; any power supplied to the white JST connector will be regulated down to this operating voltage - our LiPo batteries are an excellent power supply choice. The output header is designed to mate with our 3.3V FTDI Basic Breakout board, so you can easily connect the board to a computer's USB port. Or, for a wireless solution, it can be connected to the Bluetooth Mate or an XBee Explorer. Note: Because of a world shortage of ATmega328's we'lll be building these with ATmega168s. Functionally, nothing will change; however the 168 has about half the memory space (Flash, EEPROM, SRAM) of the 328. Features: * 9 Degrees of Freedom on a single, flat board: o LY530ALH - 300°/s single-axis gyro o LPR530ALH - 300°/s dual-axis gyro o ADXL345 - 13-bit resolution, ±16g, triple-axis accelerometer o HMC5843 - triple-axis, digital magnetometer * High pass filter on the gyro outputs * Outputs of all sensors processed by on-board ATmega168 and sent out via a serial stream * Output pins match up with FTDI Basic Breakout, Bluetooth Mate, XBee Explorer * 3.5-16VDC input * ON-OFF control switch and reset switch Dimensions: 1.95 x 1.10 " (49.53 x 27.94 mm) Download * Schematic * Source Code (zip) * LPR530AL Datasheet * LY530ALH Datasheet * ADXL345 Datasheet * HMC5843 Datasheet Purchase! |
