Features
The UE9-Pro has all the features of the normal UE9 with the addition of an auxiliary low-speed hi-resolution (24-bit) sigma-delta ADC. This converter takes about 125 ms per sample and provides an effective resolution of about 20-bits over the 0-5 or +/-5 volt ranges. Linearity and accuracy are also improved compared to the normal converter.

Analog Inputs

The LabJack UE9 has 14 external analog inputs (AIN0-AIN13) and 2 internal analog inputs (AIN14-AIN15). AIN0-AIN3 are available on screw terminals and also on the DB37 connector. All 14 analog inputs are available on the DB37 connector.

Each analog input can be configured individually as unipolar (0-5 volts) or bipolar (±5 volts). An internal PGA provides gains of 1, 2, 4, or 8 (unipolar ranges only at this time). Analog input resolution is 12-bits at max speed (10 us conversion time), increasing up to 16-bits at slower speeds (10 ms conversion time).

Analog inputs can be continuously streamed at up to 50 ksamples/second over Ethernet. USB streaming is not fully supported at this time. Command/response (software timed) functions typically take a few milliseconds to execute.

Analog Outputs

The LabJack UE9 has 2 analog outputs (DAC0 and DAC1) that are available both on screw terminals and the DB37 connector. Each analog output can be set to a voltage between 0 and about 4.8 volts with 12-bits of resolution.

Digital I/O

The LabJack UE9 has 23 digital I/O channels which can be individually configured as input, output-high, or output-low. 8 of these lines are called flexible digital I/O (FIO) and can be software configured as up to 6 timers and 2 counters.

The first 4 FIO are available on screw terminals and the DB37 connector. All 8 FIO and 3 MIO are available on the DB37 connector, and 8 EIO and 3 CIO are available on the DB15 connector.

Timers

Up to 6 FIO can be configured as timers. The timers are very flexible, providing options such as PWM output, pulse timing, and quadrature input.

Counters

Up to 2 FIO can be configured as 32-bit counters.

Power Supply

Power can be provided by the USB cable or an external 5 volt supply (included). When only Ethernet is connected, and an isolated power supply is used (such as the included wall-wart), the entire UE9 is electrically isolated.

High Channel Count Applications

By using USB hubs or Ethernet switches, many LabJacks can be interfaced to a single PC, providing an inexpensive solution for low-speed high channel count applications.

Wireless Data Acquisition

Combining the UE9 with a standard 802.11 wireless Ethernet bridge ($50-$200 from any computer retailer) provides inexpensive wireless data acquisition. Applications include high-speed continuous wireless data acquisition, long distance remote sensing and control, or PDA based data acquisition.

CB37 Terminal Block -- Provides convenient screw terminals for the DB37 connector on the LabJack UE9. The CB37 can connect directly to the UE9 or can be attached with the included cable.

EB37 Experiment Board --  The EB37 experiment board connects to the LabJack UE9’s DB37 connector and provides convenient screw terminal access. Also provided is a solderless breadboard

Dual Amplifier or Voltage Divider Module
Our dual amplifier or voltage divider module allows you to amplify signals by a factor of 1.5 to x10 or reduce signals by
a factor 0.667 to 0.1 You can easily convert 4 to 20mA signals to voltage.

Dual Programmable Instrumentation Amplifier
A dual instrumentation amplifier from Electronic Innovations Corp provides 2 high-impedance differential inputs. Operates from a single 5 volt supply and provides a +/- 15 volt supply and a 4.096 volt reference. Analog input range is +/- 10 volts. The gain of each channel is set to 1, 10, 100, or 1000 via digital I/O or jumper wires. Typical current requirement is about 80 mA @ 5 volts, allowing the EI-1040 to be powered from a +5V terminal on the LabJack U12.

LJTick-Divider
The LJTick-Divider (LJTD) is a signal-conditioning module designed to divide 2 single-ended channels of 0-10 volt analog signals down to 0-2.5 volt signals. The 4-pin design plugs into the standard AIN/AIN/GND/VS screw terminal block found on newer LabJacks such as the U3 and UE9. The use of large resistors and a precision op-amp buffer provide an input impedance of 1 MW. By adding or replacing resistors, many other configurations are possible, such as a level shifter that converts ±10 volts to 0-2.5 volts.
 
LJTick-Current Shunt
The LJTick-CurrentShunt (LJTCS) is a signal-conditioning module designed to convert a 4-20 mA current loop input signal into a 0.47-2.36 volt signal compatible with the LabJack U3 or UE9. The 4-pin design plugs into the standard AIN/AIN/GND/VS screw terminal block found on newer LabJacks such as the U3 and UE9. (RoHS=YES).
LJTick-InAmp
Signal-conditioning module provides two instrumentation amplifiers ideal for low-level signals such as bridge circuits (e.g. strain gauges) and thermocouples. The LJTIA has switches to choose from 5 gain settings (x1, x11, x51, x201, or custom) and two output voltage offsets. The 4-pin design plugs into the standard AIN/AIN/GND/VS screw terminal block found on newer LabJacks such as the U3 and UE9. (RoHS=YES).
 
LJTick-RelayDriver
The LJTick-RelayDriver (LJTRD) allows 2 digital I/O lines on a U3 or UE9 to control a relay or other moderate load up to 50V/200mA.
 
LJTick-Proto
The LJTick-Proto (LJTP) consists of an 8x8 grid of holes for prototyping custom signal-conditioning ticks for the LabJack U3 or UE9.
 
Temperature Probe
An inexpensive and easy to use temperature probe. Designed to work with a LabJack, but can also be used with any voltage measuring device. Outputs 10 mV per degree C, and has a range of -40 to +100 degrees C.
