Serial LCD Module
The SerLCD v2.5 module is the latest serial LCD module from Spark Fun
Electronics that incorporates many new features. The SerLCD backpack
takes care of all the HD44780 commands allowing seamless integration
with any micro that can communicate over a wide range of TTL serial
baud rates. The SerLCD v2.5 has the ability to drive up to 1A directly
for backlight control or as a general purpose high-power control pin.
SerLCD v2.5 currently supports 16 and 20 character wide screens with 2
or 4 lines of display. Contrast control is implemented through a trim
pot on the module. Comes with 3-pin screw terminal shown on right. (Note the SerLCD does
not come with LCD.)
Features:
* New PIC 16F688 utilizes onboard UART for greater communication
accuracy
* Adjustable baud rates of 2400, 4800, 9600 (default), 14400, 19200 and
38400
* Operational Backspace
* Greater processing speed at 8MHz
* Incoming buffer stores up to 80 characters
* Backlight transistor can handle up to 1A
* Pulse width modulation of backlight allows direct control of
backlight brightness and current consumption
* All surface mount design allows a backpack that is half the size of
the original
* Faster boot-up time
* Boot-up display can be turned on/off via firmware
* User definable splash screen

LCD-050 Color
LCD
128x128 Nokia Knock-Off with carrier board
Description:
Stop trying to solder the 0.5mm pitch Color LCD connector and start
playing! This breakout board comes fully tested and assembled with it's
own Nokia LCD. The Color LCD Carrier Board requires only 3.3V and
boosts this voltage to drive the LED backlight at 6.5V. The multiple
solder jumpers allow the end user to get complete access to the LCD
connector if needed. Only 6 connections are need for basic operation:
* +Vin (3.3V)
* CS (Chip Select)
* SCLK (Serial Clock)
* SDATA (Serial Data)
* RST (Reset)
* GND (Ground)
Carrier board comes fully assembled and tested and includes a Nokia
Color LCD.
Special
Note:
The Nokia LCDs are sensitive to electrical noise on the Vdsp supply
line (Pin 6 on LCD). This line provides power for the LCD
itself while Vdig supplies power to the screens controller and
interface logic. This breakout board allows several different
power configurations using jumpers. By default the board
takes a single 3.3 volt input to power the booster circuit and both
Vdsp and Vdig. This configuration causes large amounts of
noise on Vdsp that can cause the screen to flicker randomly.
For best results use a separate 3.3 volt supply for Vdsp. If
a separate regulated 3.3 volt supply is not available for
Vdsp, try a 100uF capacitor between Vdsp and GND which might
provide acceptable performance.

LCD-051 Color
LCD
128x128 Nokia Knock-Off without carrier board
Description:
Finally! Color LCDs you can afford and play with This
128x128 mini color LCD is a perfect match for your next portable
application.
What SFE found over
in China is a 'copy' of the Nokia LCD found in models 6100, 6610, 7210,
7250, and 5100? We don't know what phones it fits, and we don't really
care. This inexpensive LCD comes with a powerful white LED backlight
and a relatively simple serial interface. It's a 9-bit interface, so
beware. But we were able to get the LCD up and running on a LPC2138
with a few hours worth of work.
Please note: This LCD is meant to replace a broken screen in a cell
phone. The connector (both on the LCD and on the PCB) was not designed
for multiple attachment/detachment. Please secure your LCD is place
with double stick tape to prevent stress on these connectors. This LCD
is small! Please see the comparative photos. With that said, it is
still superbly readable at arms length (cell phone technology).
A surface mount connector is
included with the LCD.
Frame Dimensions: 1.35x1.58"
Active Display Dimensions: 1.2"x1.2"
Features:
* LCD Logic - 3.3V @ 2-3mA
* LED Backlight - 7V @ 40-50mA (very bright)
* Full 4,096 Color Display
* Uses the Epson S1D15G10 Compatible Controller
